An Unexpected Journey

Community-Based Research in our ICT project was unexpected but eye-opening. Before this, I only associated ICT with technical tasks like coding. However, diving into community research showed me ICT's broader applications in real-world issues. This experience taught me the value of interdisciplinary approaches in problem-solving.

          To kick off our task, we divided the workload among our group of five, each taking on two parts of the research.

However, our initial meeting in front of the municipal of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, didn't go as smoothly as planned. We arrived unprepared, lacking interview questions and a structured plan, which left us feeling panicked and unsure of our next steps.


 Undeterred, we embarked on a walk through the Don Dimas barangay, hoping to find willing participants for our Community-Based Research. Despite the physical exertion of walking and approaching numerous people, we faced challenges finding individuals knowledgeable about the history and origin of Caoayan, Ilocos Sur.




         Eventually, our persistence paid off, and we connected with individuals who could provide valuable insights for our research. With the necessary data in hand, we regrouped to plan our web page design, bringing our day of fieldwork to a satisfying close.


          In the end, while the journey through Community-Based Research presented its challenges, it also provided invaluable lessons and insights. From our initial moments of uncertainty to the satisfaction of gathering essential data, this experience epitomized the essence of learning through hands-on exploration. As we move forward with our web page design and task completion, I carry with me a newfound appreciation for the power of ICT to bridge gaps and foster meaningful connections within our communities.

               I don't really buy into the whole idea of change. Honestly, it sounds a bit like chasing after a shooting star – dazzling but elusive. Instead, I'm all about growth. It's the kind of progress that's more like tending to a plant than flipping a switch. So, here we are, on the brink of 2024, and while everyone's chanting "New Year, New Me," I'm more inclined to steer clear of grand gestures. Let's keep it real and explore some down-to-earth resolutions that align with the belief in steady, meaningful growth.                The first pitstop on this road of growth – the art of saying no. Honestly, I've always been skeptical about the whole "change overnight" deal. Instead, I'm leaning into the idea of setting boundaries and learning to say no when needed.
